History

Texas A&M University's Telecommunications and Informatics Task Force was established in conjunction with the University's strategic plan, Vision 2020, which identifies the needed steps for the University to be recognized as a top 10 university by the year 2020.

The TITF was organized in 1998 by the Executive Vice President and Provost to formulate a plan for developing greater synergy in research and academic programs in telecommunications and informatics across the University, which will encourage a more comprehensive view toward enhancing our existing strengths. The Task Force reports to the Vice President for Research Richard E. Ewing. The Task Force's continuing responsibility is to oversee the implementation of the strategy that is developed and to evaluate the progress we are making in strengthening telecommunications and informatics at Texas A&M.
